Booking Terms

If not agreed differently, the following payment and cancellation terms apply for bookings with SimienEcoTours.

Terms of Payment

To confirm your booking, a deposit of 20% of the total amount of your trip is required. SimienEcoTours will send you the necessary information and bank details. The remaining amount of the travel expenses must be paid no later than 30 days before the start of the tour.

Cancellation Policy

A cancellation must be reported to SimienEcoTours in written form. The cancellation fees depend on the time of cancellation:

- more than 21 days before departure: 20% of the travel amount
- between 20 and 14 days before departure: 40% of the travel amount
- between 13 and 3 days before departure: 80% of the travel amount
- less than 3 days before the start and after the start of the trip: 100% of the travel amount

Should the competent authorities advise against travelling to Ethiopia, SimienEcoTours undertakes to make every effort to minimise these cancellation fees.

Special Conditions due to COVID-19 and Tigray crisis

To encourage clients to book in times of crisis and limit the risk to a minimum, we offer our flexible and low-risk booking conditions which apply in the following cases.

Booking time: 01 July 2020 - 31 March 2023
Travel time: 01 July 2020 - 31 October 2023
Advance payment: 15% only (instead of the usual 20%)

Flexibility when rebooking: up to 30 days before departure you can rebook to a later date free of charge. In this case we will issue you a travel voucher valid until 31.12.2023 in the value of the payments already made. Please note that when rebooking, accommodation must be checked again for availability and other accommodation may have to be booked.

Advantageous COVID-19 cancellation conditions:
- more than 21 days before departure: 15% of the travel amount
- between 14 and 7 days before departure: 30% of the travel amount
- between 7 and 3 days before departure: 60% of the travel amount
- less than 3 days before the start and after the start of the trip: 100% of the travel amount
